About Me

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and taking the time to learn a little bit more about me. :)

I am about to enter my second year as a Kindergarten teacher, which I am so excited about! When I was hired last year to be a Kindergarten teacher, I was a bit hesitant since my previous experience lies within first and second grade. But I took the challenge head on, and now I’m in love with Kindergarten! I didn't realize how much fun I could have as a Kinder teacher, nor did I realize how much these little Kinders could teach me! It’s been one amazing and rewarding year and I am excited to see what this year has in store for me!

I have an amazing family who is very loving and supportive of me and my decisions. My mother is my best friend. She is the one who molded me into the woman I am today and without her I truly don’t know where I’d be.

I have the most incredible boyfriend who is always there for me and who always reminds me to smile no matter what. He is very supportive of every challenge I accept, and he is also the one who keeps me grounded by constantly reminding me to breathe and to take my time. Each day I’m reminded of how much I am truly blessed!

I love summertime! I love the beach and the feel of the sand between my toes! Flip flops excite me! :D

My newest obsession is bubble tea!

I am very crafty and love adding color to everything! I love to organize my classroom and am obsessed with buying new things that I can utilize at the dollar store and target! There are so many cute things out there! If it wasn't for my boyfriend keeping me in check at times, I’d probably be broke!

I love this quote above all the rest:

When things get really rough, I take a deep breath and repeat this quote to myself over an over again. When I’m done I feel calmer.

Through time, as I go through the motions of life, I've realized there truly are things that are beyond my control and I’m okay with that. All I can do is give everything my best and see what happens.

Two years ago I lost someone very special to me, my grandfather. He was the strongest man I knew and what he had accomplished in his life is remarkable. He was a good person and he always forgave those who had wronged him. From him, I have learned a lot. I am most thankful for the opportunity I had to know him for as long as I did. I will always miss him.

When I’m not teaching or working on a unit or activity I love to be outdoors and enjoy nature! I love to go on hikes and sight see. I also love to get lost in a good book.

I also love to write! I have so many ideas and so many stories that I've started; I just haven’t had the time to sit down and complete them. I will though, one day soon!

I love to travel. So far, I've been to Italy, Switzerland, France, and Germany! I can’t wait until next summer when I will return to Italy and visit Ireland for the first time!

I hope you've enjoyed reading a little bit about me. :) Again, thank you for taking the time to get to know me a bit better! I hope you enjoy my blog and that you can utilize some of my ideas and products in your own classroom. Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments you may have at kindertykes@gmail.com.

Thank you! :)

You were a member of the last Pinning Party I just finished and found your blog through your pinterest boards. I absolutely love your ideas and products and am a follower of both of your stores, your pinterest boards, twitter, and now I'm a new follower of your blog....I can't wait to learn from you!

We have a lot in common actually...this will be my second year teaching kindergarten (and absolutely love it as well)...but had only taught 3rd and 4th grades for years...but I really needed a big change. I'm like you...I wasn't quite sure if I'd like it and now I can't imagine teaching any other grade. I've never had so much fun teaching or had my heart captured from the very first day. Even if I'm in the worst mood (I'm not a good morning person)...when I open the door to let them in and I see their smiling, innocent, and eager to learn faces...my bad mood just melts away. I love teaching using a lot of center type activities (as well as Daily 5). I usually make my centers have some sort of short response sheet that I use as formative assessments. I also LOVE quotes and just saved all your that you posted recently! I look forward to getting to know you better....if you ever need anything or want to trade a product or two....just let me know. I've done the swapping products idea with a couple teachers lately and it's kind of nifty....you don't have to spend any money and both of you benefit by getting to get new products :) I've been a terrible blogger lately, but actually have to take the couple first months off of school for a medical issue....I will be itching to get back..but need to take care of myself as well. So.....this gives me time to really start blogging and come up with some sort of blogging schedule for myself so that my posts aren't so random....basically I'm going to set a purpose for everyday's blog and maybe do a weekly linky party (if I can figure out how). Feel free to stop by my blog or one of my stores sometime and if you every need anything...I'd be happy to help any way I can since I'll be laid up for these first couple of months.
